When COVID hit, music and inspiration stalled for many around the globe. Angelus Errare’s (Æ) singer Will Hebert was determined not to let that isolation and fear define his destiny. This led him to write siren songs speaking to others who felt out of sync with the world.
Because of that, Æ sings about struggles with mental health, trauma and dissociation. These themes were a natural progression from the band’s previous iteration Sunnydale High, which focused on battling internal and external demons.
Æ writes songs that fuse hardcore, post-punk, new wave and classic punk with a modern sound.
Derived from the JRPG video game Chrono Cross, Angelus Errare is a fictional phrase that means “where angels lose their way.” Ever feel like you’re in the wrong timeline or been made to feel you don’t belong? Our songs are for those who have a sense of emotional distortion in the current world. As the nightingale sings, let’s awaken to choose our own destiny. These are the songs that carve a path for the pathless in the darkest of nights.
Æ hails from Wyoming/Colorado and is led by the powerful singer/bassist Will Hebert who carefully crafts a blend of hooks and power that rises above the status quo punk rock and hardcore sounds. Will Plumb uses his drumming experience and boundless excitement to fuel heart-pumping powerful beats. Seneca Flowers gives the songs post-punk textures and frenetic energy. Finally, Jenny Errare delivers emotional and captivating melodies to create inescapable earworms on top of already infectious songs.
